The Michigan Resource Center, formerly the Traffic Safety Association of Michigan (TSAM), is aligning itself with Safe America. Beginning in February, the Lansing-based nonprofit will be known as a Safe America 'operating unit' and also will serve as the Midwest Center for Safe America. The center's staff is pictured on the left with SAF President Len Pagano (2nd from left). Pagano saluted the 40-year-old Michigan nonprofit for its leadership in transportation safety.

Among those working with the center have been Michigan AAA, State Farm, Chrysler, UPS and Chase. A new growth phase is being planned to expand membership statewide to over 100 companies. Former TSAM Executive Director Tom Reel, now on Safe America's headquarters staff, will help direct this initiative, along with Gwen McDaniel, Deborah Lareau and Guy Scull.
